Goats

Goats are my favorite animals, so today we will be talking about them and what are some interesting facts about them. Goats are one of my favorite animals because, my aunt has goats and every weekend we would go to her house to spend time with them.  Did you know that goats are closely related to antelopes? Well they are, they are also closely related to sheep and mountain goats. All of these ancestors are part of the Bovidae animal family. Goats are like cows in the sense that they also have four stomachs. Well to be exact they don’t have four separate stomachs, they just have one big stomach which has four different sections. The four sections are the rumen, reticulum, the omasum, and the abomasum. The different parts all do basically the same thing but it needs different sections to store the food that is not digested, two sections for digesting the food, and the last section which is like a bladder inside of the stomach. Those are the reasons why goats are my favorite animals.Goats on tree eating argan, in Marocco

Water bears

Tardigrades, most popularly known as water bears are some of the most fascinating creatures on earth. I chose to write about them today because we are currently learning about them in science class. I find these animal captivating because they can survive almost all conditions! For example you can freeze them until they are dry, put them into a space vacuum, take them back out, warm them up, and they will still be as if nothing happened. Although these animals are super hardy they can’t survive anything, for example, fire, or getting squished. Water bears live all over the world and are usually found is a assortment of mosses. Do you have great eyesight? If you do you might even be able to see them with your naked eye! If not you can always use a microscope, but be careful. These animals are alive too! WATERBEAR
